Meet Deborah

Deb---photoMy passion as a family nurse practitioner, Reiki master teacher and holistic health counselor is to show you how to improve your health and wellness by finding balance in your life. I support my clients by integrating a variety of lifestyle changes including but not limited to high quality nutrition, physical activity, relationships, family, career, and community.

My integrative approach toward creating optimal health balances the best of medical protocols with a holistic approach to a variety of conditions. By identifying health obstacles in my clients’ lives, I can teach them how to balance and take control of their body, and live their life to the fullest.

I developed The-Balanced-Body Approach as a way to help you make the best educated decisions on lifestyle changes and take charge of your health and your future. You will benefit from my unique expertise as a family nurse practitioner integrating traditional medical protocols with preventive measures.

Ever since I was a young girl watching my aunt as a nurse and uncle as a chiropractor, I felt destined to care for others in a more holistic way. My passion toward health led me to receive my Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT.  I pursued my advanced study at Albany Medical College in Albany, NY where I became certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  While at Albany Medical, a very dear professor led me onward to a more natural approach in treating certain conditions.

I then pursued certifications as a Reiki Master Teacher teaching others the power of simple self-healing tools. I went on to study at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC, NY which is the only nutrition school integrating all the dietary theories – combining the knowledge of traditional philosophies with modern concepts like the USDA food pyramid, the glycemic index, the Zone and raw foods.  I received certification in health counseling from Purchase College, SUNY, and am board certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.  I completed the course Food As Medicine through The Center for Mind-Body Medicine.  I have been honored in Marquis’ Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare, and have been affiliated with Saratoga Integrative Practitioners Network (SIPN) since its inception in 2001.

Treating the whole person involves the exploration of multiple lifestyle issues. The-Balanced-Body approach integrates the understanding of a person’s unique circumstance in life – what they eat, how they live, and more – and taking time to evaluate all the factors involved that affect their well-being.

No one diet or one wellness tool works for everyone. Let me guide you to find your balance in your eating and lifestyle patterns and receive the personal attention that you deserve to figure this out once and for all.  I will work together with you to reclaim your health and createThe-Balanced-Body for a vibrant life for years to come.
